Delhi Police are looking into fake bomb threats that have caused problems for many flights this week.

They are checking social media accounts, including X, to find out who is behind these threats.

The police started their investigation after a bomb threat was made against an Akasa Air flight going to Bengaluru, which had 180 people on board.

They are also checking other similar cases at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

A special team is working on this problem, including police cyber experts.

They think the person who made the threats used a VPN or dark web to hide their identity while sending messages from different accounts.

The police have asked social media platforms to remove the accounts that posted these threats.

"We believe the person used a VPN to set up fake accounts and send messages," a police officer said. They want to find the real location of the person by getting the IP addresses from the social media platform.

Many Flights Affected

This week, over 70 flights got bomb threats, but most were not real.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) held a meeting with airline leaders to talk about this growing problem.

On Saturday, more than 30 flights from different Indian airlines received bomb threats, which made passengers and airport staff very worried.

Airlines like Air India, Vistara, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, Star Air, and Alliance Air had problems because of the threats.

Some planes had to be moved to safe spots, and there were extra security checks, which made it hard for passengers.

The civil aviation ministry wants to make strong rules to stop fake bomb threats. They might even keep the people who make these threats from flying.
